ABBATIP: Free Flow (on certain timings *see pic*) of the "Best Boney Parts Of Fish In miso soup." Soup is filled with natural goodness, sweet omega-3 laden fish parts, daicon, carrots and cabbage. Absolute seconds or thirds are a must!

After a 4+ year hiatus, Chio Si Ma-Ru still offers the same value meal orders over at Eddoku Sushi (a.k.a. Mother Of All Sushi) located in Narita Village.

Their lunch time special, even after 4 years, is still offering a free flow of, super delicious, ingredient-packed fish bone soup! Free, good and comes with additional toppings! Where to find! Honestly it's a meal onto itself on a cold winters day.

The locals definitely know where the good deals at. The place opens at 11am and was near capacity when I was leaving at about 11.40am on a weekday!
Ordered On:10Dec2017
*Ankimo (Duck liver of the sea) is a good order to try. Broiled fluke as well as Pork Tongue were once again the top re-orders over here. The Oyster sushi was a complete failure but hailing from the dessert section, the Creme Brullee matcha dessert and mo-chi were really pretty good and worth the order!*

*Super stuffed and again value meal. As it was a weekend, there was no free flow of soup but for 135yenn we gladly paid for a bowl! Ate till our hearts content and charges of ¥3000/¥2500/¥1300 respectively. Cheap and good with a large variety to choose from. The unique favorites are still the miso paste fluke and broiled pork tongue which are a must try!*

Basic set, raw beef, pork tongue, cured tuna sushi, ottoro

 Natto with quail egg
*Trying Natto for the first time and its not my cup of tea. Its got the textural feel of ladies fingers and a chocolaty after taste.*
Broiled Pork Tongue

*The new must order and re-order. At about 230yenn per paired serving, its an absolute steal. Nice char, good flavor with a springy/chewy consistency. Really good!*
Raw Beef

*Pretty okay but nothing really substantially mind blowing.*
Ottoro
*As always to finish off :D*
Total about 2,500yen

As per the usual orders and am glad to be able to order the
golden/white plates this time round.

*Pictured left, crab insides, center pickled fish assortment and on the right, a good order to have is the broiled cured tuna. Excellent!*
Special Mentions:
Choushinmaru Waza No Atsuyaki
Forget about this order. The Tamago prepared over at Eddoku Sushi (a.k.a Mother of all sushi, reviewed further below) is far more superior and the must try.
Broiled Fluke Fin and Sweet White Miso
*This really was quite pleasant. Not at all pricey with a sweet flavor and has a nice light char from the broil. I'd definitely go for seconds, had I not been so full.*

*Seasonal Order! The Oysters, though large are really creamy and sweet. Superb and huge serving size! It doesn't loose it flavor
 *2300++Yen set. Good as always*

Edoko Sushi is still just as good and the only place in the area that serves Sushi that's over flowing the rice. However, by Japanese standards it is still pricey and really a celebratory meal. Definitely have the draft beer, served icy cold and really refreshing. For affordable sushi when in Japan, one can try Sushi Zanmai that found in multiple locations and open 24hrs.

(a.k.a mother of all Sushi)
1.9km walk from International Garden Hotel Narita

Original Branch where the owner/master serves Sushi from.

Less posh of an interior than the branch nearer to the bridge crossing. With that said, quality is still maintained. It was however a little stuffy in there.

Ordered On:

15Sept2015

Prepared by the business owner and master
Scallop Shashimi ¥400
Ami Ebi Shashimi
¥400

 Crab and Liver ¥800

*Really good. It's a mix of the sweet crab meat and liver of the crab. Not over powering and prepared really well. Worth the order for sure.*

Tamago ¥150

*The favorite 'dessert' of mine. I didn't notice, but they have little prawn shrimps embedded in the layers of egg, offering texture and flavor. The order to have at the end of a meal.*

Giant Prawn (Grilled) ¥800

*I wouldnt recommend it grilld. I had a Shashimi prawn in Sushizanmai once beforeand they really went to full nine yards with that. Shashimi on the meat and they went on to fry the head. Amazing. This one however was just grilled. Though sweet, I felt over priced and more could have been done. Chef doesn't really recommend how best to be enjoyed and leaves it entirely to you for your preference.*

Chutoro x2order

Uni Sushi

(Before and after protest of getting more Uni)

Ikura Sushi

Bonito (Seasonal) Sushi

*The new star to the line up. It's got the texture of tuna but its lightly cured and doesn't have an overwhelming taste of fish if that makes sense. The chives and young ginger gives that freshness and brightens up the whole dish. Really good and a must order as its in season now!*

Total Fed 3: Per pax ¥6420 and ¥5620 x 2

It's been awhile since last having Edokko Sushi. The Tamago doesn't disappoint and the seasonal orders of Bonito Sushi and Crab and Liver were well worth it. The rest pretty much with standards remain. For the price of their Ottoro and even their Chutorro in my opinion was over slightly priced and similar quality could have been joyed at Sushizanmai (24hr chain) for less.

Still, its hard to find overflowing sushi slices where there's so much more fish than rice. A treat for sure, and possibly more reasonably priced meals, if one were going for the sets and topping it up with some of the seasonal orders.

What's good is that they automatically split the bill for you for easy payment.
Alternatives shared by others that are good sushi that doesn't break the bank are chain sushi joints Tama Sushi as well as Midori Sushi.

Standard Eel order with rice ¥2300

Undeniably fresh. From processing to charcoal barbecuing and served up. Nice caramelization and distinct charcoal char on the juicy tender meat. The Eel goes swimmingly well with the Gohan (rice). The sauce on top, slightly sweet/salty yet not over powering.

It was my first time trying this place after so long, but I must say that though tender and fatty, the sauce could be a little sweeter and thicker. This could be a matter of preference, but am glad to have tried fresh eel for the second time. The first time trying 'relatively fresh Eel' goes to Dojima Ann in SFO, a recommendation from another, where the eels served here are admittedly plumper, fattier, but sauce wise, overly sweet and salty. (Click for full review and pics) ,

Guaranteed good, but remember to bring along your wallet as it comes at a price. ¥2000-¥4000 for a serve. Live Eels are masterly processed on a wooden board and moved directly for charcoal grilling. Closes when completely sold out.
Located on the downhill slope, toward Naritasan-Shinshoji Temple on the right.
